You try to enable it through the console but, this gives you an error message as below.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Error<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Access denied<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/AZzBwqaJbAoRcH2otGYKPt7WpE_a-PRt2Q7GqQi-W3Lzza11emfwMUEcqpet7OBuIpTZk2EJhDO44JFb9nTW9Mxz9XbK2LfUxyhLWn8nX4JCfWflpv5Jn6D_oTiFGG0tm1IFslo8\" width=\"184\" height=\"87\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You have tried all possible ways to fix the issue by checking if the bucket policy is correct, or the IAM user has enough privilege to perform this task.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Then, at the end of this article, you will be amazed to see that the solution is about simplicity.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.liainfraservices.com\/aws-cloud-migration-services\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liainfraservices.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/To-know-more-about-Cloud-Migration-Services-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"To know more about  Cloud Migration Services \"><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Here on my S3 console, you can see there is a bucket (something today), which is not Public.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">See the message (Bucket and objects not public)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The above message confirms that the bucket and the objects inside don`t have any public access.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/QLezLHhEyTt4eJ6sZcArwNfOAVLq8A7_sAebePO5jyDjVA_eqsSkHJUPpHBZVbf7AA9eSzNgxEi8mYmgTz0q1TyAtEVsct_Xj-Yj5-0x-3RqstEC7_AUGWbO6kYOTqLT3QFOPHhp\" width=\"624\" height=\"137\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Now, you have tried to enable public access to this bucket in the below way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">You selected the bucket.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/VleTnPZwMUyP_KW2O3qnTsqR2HOtu10ktS7n86QMPOX9rKeQ-FVoId0yRclXZOI7QR1UpPQU1KOeNeVFAPK3tJtC07boue-7eMf7n7lOO86ptIMLHA-K75DNznxFmJDr_icH9RZu\" width=\"213\" height=\"53\"><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Then, a pop-up window comes with the permission<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/OyR3rLi4QKFFabCkoHjS8RiGqnr6z0Gk3Fxg39uvF_2EubXDWLb5IZwdznVlHqC-Hg4cjayy3aKuUgGDhZdIIDQIJhmuNs0Fw5hKszYzjxjjgM2NrKW_cYyTWQyMAqUQ98fhlRt7\" width=\"509\" height=\"554\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Then you clicked on Permission and that leads you to this permission page.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/XiaGV4VyoJj30DVDHrSnH0KaJFGWMUougXoQkoclNxt0kDp4uVD1Gt1DDC6WydpbcCR7jGDALUAMebxCsIRa6uCMBgWDeaZPA-H2LHUCr2COpXapoNnhV__XlHNcc2vau0sceg9r\" width=\"624\" height=\"121\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">There you would easily move to Access Control List(2 on the picture)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/W0soFZCCXvUJTryJb84v_9oyf9Dy-ExfkxyG-IVAs9-zhEuQTkqWhyBgmE-DihWjBChBnAz4lNcnCuX9fIU5cz9pJcqU8V1vQyE6RU6OHNdpPgXpuQKrNlGrBfjBLVS5yL2xKM85\" width=\"624\" height=\"228\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You Navigate to the <span style=\"color: #339966;\">\u201cPublic access\u201d<\/span> section and select <span style=\"color: #339966;\">\u201cEveryone\u201d<\/span> checked all the checkbox(2) and click on Save(3)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Then to your disappointment, you get an error as<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> \u201cAccess denied\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Now thinking rather than scratching your head to find out what was wrong.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/PaV7gHCd-dK_g_RG9Cj5gf5BJ8rYJfq5ly97I81F23Yy3zAZ6dPc6f2wxfHOPe7VRCNQApxMm6wKzG1-bN2QGmi1HjKwywcQr2MRo9N8wBG9AnvDfN7Lednzzj74hnhX8Gp8A4L-\" width=\"360\" height=\"450\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Now, you will think for a while and create a bucket policy to solve this issue. The policy maybe something like this<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">{<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Id&#8221;: &#8220;Policy15434102856&#8221;,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Version&#8221;: &#8220;2012-10-17&#8221;,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Statement&#8221;: [<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">{<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Sid&#8221;: &#8220;Stmt15433597724&#8221;,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Action&#8221;: &#8220;s3:*&#8221;,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Effect&#8221;: &#8220;Allow&#8221;,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Resource&#8221;: &#8220;arn:aws:s3:::bucketname&#8221;,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">&#8220;Principal&#8221;: &#8220;*&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">}<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">]<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">}<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Even that also gives you with error <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cAccess denied\u201d<\/span> error.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Now, you probably will check if the IAM user has a correct policy to perform this task, etc.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">But, to get that bucket public access and create a bucket policy, the bucket should first have<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\">\u201cPublic access settings\u201d<\/span> configured correctly.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em><strong>Let&#8217;s work on a solution now.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Click on your bucket<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Go to Permissions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Select <span style=\"color: #339966;\">\u201cPublic access settings\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/xp7_o1vIfGIOJDo9TviZt2GKx2o7uw12bM-7FqJMzAvLiqJJdw2QXhPFOc6XZBWnhFobVqVdcvXoTYoNOQ1can3I9Z5YJMuKfBzqFFK-jZpUlLRY20LQ8WInVW4trJtq8LB7WypP\" width=\"624\" height=\"155\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">This will provide a new popup and, you click on<span style=\"color: #339966;\"> \u201cedit\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/grpimTxOHGtnwc8QwxkZi9J0A1dDA6OOxk_dvGw0-zz8lsmW4Nxizg4WlWrvLbSOy2SLFS49xm_4PO81Ec-N-ednN6AFL1pE893w4x0kRAInynBYCkCNkaGG6KgZ1gVMX1ALhB8c\" width=\"624\" height=\"104\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/bT2u21D7uhslMUSlvnMu2QhsgbL1acZXGrmRRJpDjh_l_lVYeYehmq08l45OBoRFkGeWsz6UyPeXGZ0L38Vi6xyuxEYhd1MPSYO7Piy3pQCOwXsBZkugcp2jjpOxUfAgnWvQwhkJ\" width=\"624\" height=\"196\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Read all these 4 checks and uncheck them as per your need.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Click on Save.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/CX6EdiO9P6CJp0DC9xQQWNTT4cm8J33TF8wvZw1_3zPNbig-XGV52KCTi_9PKU8xON1xzmF4Z9rMXSQo9Wd6C8PrQ_MHEB1K96r46IUP9L-vNZDzBpPlCJ8zto1MmmnqmrCNnK1B\" width=\"624\" height=\"327\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">You would be asked to verify by typing<span style=\"color: #339966;\"> \u201cconfirm\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Click on confirm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">You will be given a message as success as below.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/zZM6fA5PELiyxI9ef6BZzmFooNeOdlRp8cIsNwatSnXzHOCNnhD8r0-dBfqj8-IPLkHkGaAIA7vt_4D8QH70jegic2mgwRGTqkh807nF_eoWtrEHX-rFfluGx73YJ1FMKJE2C1Sg\" width=\"471\" height=\"72\"><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Now, try to enable bucket policy, this will allow you to do that.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">and try to get public access to the bucket from the section \u201cAccess control List\u201d.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This will allow you to get that done without any issue.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Now, you would be able to upload objects to the bucket.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Additional information: To make any objects into buckets also as public automatically.
