was not successful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click on to know more on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liainfraservices.com\/blog\/cloud-migration-challenges\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Cloud Migration Challenges<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The UAT may get fail due to the below reasons but not limited to.<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Migration is showing as successful on the dashboard, but unable to&nbsp; RDP to the target VM.<\/li><li>The Migration is showing as successful, but unable to ssh into the target VM.<\/li><li>Missing files on the target<\/li><li>Unable to load the application<\/li><li>Total available data is lesser than the source volume.<\/li><li>Target VM is conflicting with the production server on the source environment.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CASE STUDY: To demonstrate one of the issues mentioned above, ssh not working for the target VM post-migration.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The customer performed a migration from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liainfraservices.com\/blog\/aws-to-azure-cloud-migration-errors\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">AWS to Azure<\/span><\/strong><\/a> and the migration was completed as per the migration tool dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the ssh to the target VM was failing with the error <strong>No supported authentication methods available (server sent: public key)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To troubleshoot the issue, we had to start from the basics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Checked the ssh connectivity status for the source production server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We identified the default port for ssh was changed from 22 to 2222.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ssh account used was a non-root account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The migration was happening at the Azure target cloud, which has its own Network Security Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Verified the inbound port for the NSG attached to the Network Interface of the Azure target VM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enabled the port 2222 for ssh into the NSG, But still, the ssh was failing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Azure console used the Azure serial console for the Linux VM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/4gVCMcefYvIlQeJC_EdfJdn2Ahs4pFKufrnaF5etKojlyG4mROwKjAw0092hBbDK9lFiQeC1OcGwPrDMAEm0NA2SY98VEeFJuprEtW8RkXNigMF9hvRT6X1yz123_71EN9CGvabr\" alt=\"Unable to ssh to the target VM on Azure after the Azure Migration | Liainfraservices \"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The serial console of Azure provided us with access to the target VM files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Navigated to the target VM file system<strong> \/etc\/ssh\/sshd_conf<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Opened the file using <strong>vi<\/strong> editor and found <strong>PasswordAuthentication<\/strong> was updated as \u201cno\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, edited the entry with \u201c<strong>yes<\/strong>\u201d and restarted the <strong>sshd<\/strong> service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>systemctl restart sshd<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tried to do the ssh and we were able to ssh into the target VM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, got the confirmation from the customer and passed the UAT(User Acceptance Test)<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At <strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liainfraservices.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lia infraservices<\/a>,<\/span><\/strong> Our expert team of cloud migration is an expert on migrating the servers into <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/liainfraservices.com\/azure-cloud-migration-services\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Azure cloud<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\"><\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 3<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">min read<\/span><\/span>4,901 &#8216;No supported authentication methods available (server sent: public key)&#8216;&nbsp;
